Nanny Tracker- Who's Watching YOUR kids?

nnI recently stumbled onto a weblog called:

I SAW YOUR NANNY

They solicit "nanny sightings"  from around the country and ask readers to submit them for posting.

If you would like to share your nanny sighting, story or opinion, please utilize the Meebo toolbar in the sidebar to send us a private instant message, leave an anonymous submission in the form of a comment to this post or send an email to isawyournanny@cooltoad.com. For submission guidelines, please click here.

They have a geographical index sorted by states and interesting posts about worst and best nanny experiences.

The only problem with their weblog is that the google adwords seem to trigger pop ups that are annoying.  However, the content is good for parents with small children.

Now parents can do more. http://HowsMyNanny.com is a service run by a New York prosecutor of sex crimes and child abuse who is also a mother of two. Through this site, parents can now purchase a license plate for their stroller that enables the public to anonymously report good or bad nanny observations. Registered parents receive an email alerting them to the report. As seen on Good Morning America, BBC, CNN and Fox News National.

So you blog about another blog, a free site for parents and the one follow up comment is from someone who is attempting to make $$$ off of this? SPAM! Booooooo!

Brian Brady

Ellen, that's a great point. We're all selling something.

Jill, I'm going to let the SPAM stay. Point of disclosure for the readers. Jill is the proprietor of the linked site.

There is a difference about how we sell. Cheryl Johnson, the lead author here at NELA, is sort of my "BlogMother". She has encouraged my participation at NELA with creative freedom.

CJ has always said that commenting is like going to someone's home for dinner. So, having said that, is it appropriate to go to someone's home for dinner and "pitching" them before the salad is served?

Probably not.

Having said my peace and disclosed the commenter's bias, I'll leave her SPAM

The historic, eclectic and diverse communities of Northeast Los Angeles grew from the gentle valley and hillsides along the Arroyo Seco, stretching in between Downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena.

The neighborhoods are now cross-cultural and dynamic, but much of their character can traced to Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Arts and Crafts Movement celebrated individualism, creativity and pride of craftsmanship as a rebuttal to the Industrial Revolution , and as a counterpoint to Victorian formality.

The spirit of the Arts and Crafts Movement continues today as a vital and thriving Arts Community rooted in Northeast Los Angeles.
