Open Houses for Sunday November 29, Northeast L. A (NELA!!)

Here is a list of today's open houses in Highland Park.

With an eclectic mix of craftsman style homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s, newer mid-century homes, and a diverse medley of independent galleries, artisan shops, cafes, and restaurants  in the neighborhood business district, Highland Park possesses a unique charm.

We are a growing and dynamic community.  At Bob Taylor Properties, we'd be happy to introduce you to our neighborhood, and assist you in the purchase of a home here.

834 Silverlake Blvd.  L A 90026,  1 bedroom - Offered for lease @$2,100 per month

In the heart of Silver Lake this classic and beautiful Craftsman-Spanish classic is all about keeping things original with no expense spared, and complete attention to details. This unique triplex is more like moving into a private home of your own rather than an apartment; since it has no adjoining walls with the other two units at the property.

The property has undergone a meticulous and fastidious major period renovation. All new wiring modernized and expanded to facilitate today's modern technological needs. New copper plumbing throughout. All the walls and ceilings have been replaced and there is just premium everything! Beautiful hardwood and tile floors throughout. Over fifteen original hand crafted wood windows and stained woodwork everywhere. Vintage restored hardware and light fixtures. Gas stove with cast iron grates, and full size refrigerator. New laundry facilities with new machines on site.

Close and convenient access to all major freeways ( 5, 10, 101, 110 & 2). Just minutes from downtown L.A., Glendale, Koreatown, Hollywood and USC. One block away from major
bus lines.

This is a quiet, private, smoke free, super clean and a very special unit in very desirable triplex property.

The SECOND SATURDAY of every month is ART GALLERY NIGHT in NORTHEAST LOS ANGELES. Galleries, artist studios, businesses, shops and restaurants open their doors as the streets fill with shoppers, diners, patrons and interested pedestrians.

Established in 2006, NELA Second Saturday Art Walks provide a free, festive, multi-cultural evening that brings together community friends and art lovers in the historic, eclectic and diverse communities of Northeast Los Angeles.

Over 60 galleries throughout the area participate in the evening, all opening free to the public, with many offering artist receptions, demonstrations and live music.

Bob Taylor Properties, a local real estate office at 5526 North Figueroa Street, participates in NELA Second Saturday Art Night by by hosting a one-night, once-a-month ART and MUSIC EVENT, displaying work by some of the neighborhood's most talented and creative artists

For November, Bob Taylor Properties  is pleased to present bold, large scale, beautiful and intricately constructed mosaic paintings in beads and glass tiles, created by internationally acclaimed and sought after artist, Rafael Matias.

Born in Chicago, in 1960, Rafael Matias' ethnic roots: Native American, Mexican, Spanish, and French, are reflected in his vibrant art.

Raphael began creating mosaics while living in South Africa.  His early pieces were life size steel sculptures covered with Byzantine glass, glass beads and found objects.

Raphael describes himself as a "...storyteller, writer, poet, who uses mosaic instead of words or brush strokes to tell my feelings and stories.  The combination of my pieces are about balance and harmony between man, woman, lovers, family, community and my dreams.  Always present in the pieces of my work is the heart representing the theme of love and forgiveness."

Live music for the event is provided by the Carlos Guitarlos Trio, delivering delivers Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Americana and Rockin' Roots; deep, true, driving sounds  brought forth from a lifetime of experience and hard living.

Mike Varney, founder of Shrapnel Records Group and Blues Bureau International says  “Carlos Guitarlos is one of the greatest Blues/Americana guitarists of our time and he might just be a better singer than guitar player.”

Cadillac Zack, of Southern California Blues Society says "Carlos Guitarlos is possibly the most prolific and soulful of American roots songwriters and performers today, if not all time"
