Avenue 50 Studio: Endangered
Avenue 50 Studio has been a leader in community outreach, and cross cultural understanding. Avenue 50 Studio leases space at 131 North Avenue 50. The 1925 masonry building was recently acquired by a new owner, and plans have been filed to demolish the structure.
Although the building is a recognized icon in the neighborhood, it does not have the protection of being listed as a "Contributing Structure" by the Cultural Heritage Commission.
The next hearing before the Highland Park Historic Perservation Overlay Zone Boad takes place Tuesday, January 9, 2007, 6:30 PM at Ramona Hall Recreation Center, 4580 Figueroa Street, Los Angeles 90065 (Beside Sycamore Grove Park).

Hopefully, people will realize that we need to perserve what we have and give it merit.
